The Company of Seekers

Such is the company of those who seek God, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Psalm 24:6

The Company of Seekers

Last week, on the Fourth of July, my family and I gathered with lots of other people to watch a fireworks display that turned out to be quite breathtaking. The waiting period included standing for a long time, as well as some bug bites that made me question the decision to show up in person for this opportunity. But when the first lights lit up the sky I remembered what it was this particular company of seekers had been gathered around. The lights, the colors, the sound, the designs – they all came together to be larger than life, uniting us in gazing upward in wonder and awe.

Seeking is one of the things that connects us as humans. We seek answers and options. We seek people who will go through life with us as partners and friends. We seek meaning and purpose. Ultimately, we seek to be filled by the one who created us to seek. To seek the face of the God who loves us from beginning to end. May we find sustenance for the journey with the company of seekers who join us on the way.

Reflection Questions:

1) What are you aware of seeking in your life today?

2) Do you find yourself seeking spiritual filling?

3) Who do you imagine as your company of seekers?

Prayer: Dear God, Help me to pay attention to the ways I am seeking you. In Jesus Name, Ame
